Do you want to be part of the biomass power plant in Brigg, UK? Do you have substantial knowledge and experience in operation, maintenance and management of a straw fired plant? Brigg Renewable Energy Plant is a 40MW biomass plant constructed by BWSC. BWSC has been responsible for the operation and maintenance of the plant since commissioning in 2016.

Hiring personnel and coordinating project management

As Plant Manager for the 40MWe biomass plant at Brigg, you report directly to the Danish based Management of the operating company BWSC A/S and you will be coordinating with the Project Manager at BWSC’s headquarter in Denmark.

On site, you are responsible for the staff who will operate and maintain the plant. Furthermore, it will be your responsibility to:

• Ensure optimisation of production and production planning
• Manage operations, maintenance, administration, economy, personnel matters, and local relations
• Coordinate fuel reception, plans, budgets, reports and the implementation of safety and environmental guidelines.

We look to you to ensure that the power plant operates in the safest and most cost-effective manner, maximising profit while taking into account the lifetime of the plant and the operation period. Likewise, you are responsible for optimising the production and planning in order for the facility to be operated in an economical, safe, and reliable way, meeting load demands and contractual obligations concerning availability.

Solid profile with intercultural understanding

You have a strong technical education e.g., as a Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineer, preferably combined with a commercial background. You have worked at least 10 years in the Power Industry in a managerial role, preferably with experience from a biomass fired power plants. You work seamlessly with MS Office and/or similar software, and you have experience with finance and accounting, as well as reporting on management level. Business language will be English.

You are experienced with safety legislation and environmental permits, and with ISO9001/14001/45001 and their application. As an experienced people manager, you rely on your natural impact, flexibility and cooperative disposition. You are self-motivated and enjoy handling a variety of tasks in an ever-changing setting, always looking to ensure long-term success.
