Commercial Lawyer
*Overall Role Purpose: *
Due to continued growth of the retail business, we are looking for an in-house commercial lawyer. The role will involve negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts and advising the businesses in the group on day-to-day legal and regulatory matters that arise.
*Key Accountabilities*
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial contracts e.g. master services agreements, MANs agreements, licence agreements, construction works agreements and H&S appointments, contractor agreements, customer agreements (both B2B and B2C), marketing agreements, software license agreements, etc.
* Providing legal support to the businesses and advising on day to day legal and regulatory matters that arise to minimise legal risk in business operations.
* Collaborate and engage with colleagues/clients across all levels of the group up to and including executive level as part of the delivery of the legal service.
* Liaise with business teams to ensure the timely submission of reports to Comreg.
* Work with the data protection team to advise on data protection queries as they arise and deal with data protection issues within commercial contracts i.e. assessing the need for a data processing agreement.
* Evaluating legal risks within our business, and work with external advisors and business colleagues to mitigate these risks.
* Supporting and managing the delivery of legal projects as required.
* Assisting with department reporting.
*Required Qualifications / Expertise: *
* Qualified lawyer
* Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant legal and commercial drafting experience post qualification.
* Experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation is a requirement
* Experience in data protection law is an advantage
* Experience advising telecommunications clients (either in house or externally) is preferable, but not essential.
