SCIENCE TECHNICIAN MANAGER

Salary: Between £19,772.23 (£23,093 FTE) and £20,420.37 (£23,850 FTE). Progression is on an annual increment scale to £21,587.37 (£25,213 FTE) per annum.

Full-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year).

Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (85.62%)

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic, and hardworking Science Technician Manager to lead the Department. The post holder will work closely with the teachers to facilitate the practical components of the courses and maintain an efficient, safe, and effective service.

The role will include setting up and maintaining equipment, as well as the College’s laboratories in accordance with high standards of health and safety. The post is student facing and applicants must be confident working with young people. A high level of practical and organisational skills is essential. The post holder will need to have a background in science, including handling chemicals and previous experience of working as a Science Technician is highly desirable.

The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis (85.62%). The post holder will be required to work term-time only from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (including 45-minute unpaid lunchbreak). The hours may be adjusted each academic year to ensure coverage during the College day
