Do you have a passion for helping others to bring their skills alive and enjoy problem solving? Do you have an engaging personality and the ability to direct learning? Are you flexible and looking for the opportunity to engage your talent for a few hours a week helping people to bring their basic skills alive in life and in the world of work? If so, we have the ideal opportunity for you.

We are looking for Lecturers in Essential Skills to deliver part of an integrated learning experience that supports the whole student journey. In this role, you could be teaching engineers, social science students, chefs and a whole host of others how to communicate effectively, basic ICT skills or how to budget for their day to day responsibilities amongst other skills. But most importantly, you will be equipping them with essential problem solving skills. Our vision is to raise aspirations, and to inspire achievement and success.

You will be qualified to degree level.  Experience of teaching numeracy, literacy and ICT skills would be advantageous, however being able to inspire our students and help them develop the ability to solve problems is equally important.  A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential, along with excellent motivational, communication and organisational skills. If you are working towards a professional teaching qualification that would also be advantageous.

What is the Pre-approved Register?

The Pre-approved Register is an excellent opportunity to bring your valuable industry experience to the education sector. We are looking for experienced professionals who have availability to provide class cover on an as-and-when required basis. In return, you will develop your knowledge and skills of learning and teaching whilst being rewarded with inspiring the industry professionals of tomorrow.
