Contract Basis: The post is offered on a permanent basis

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Academy. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and client focused Payroll, HR & Corporate Services Administrator to join our friendly HR & Payroll team.

Working closely with the HR Manager and HR & Payroll Administrator, the post holder will take a lead on providing an effective, responsive and efficient Payroll function liaising directly with staff, third parties and agencies. Key elements of the role will include but will not be limited to:

  • Preparation and administration of payroll and pension for both teaching and support staff in accordance with conditions of service and compliance with statutory and administrative regulations.
  • Making all payments and completing all returns to HMRC within the required timeframes.
  • Ensuring compliance with maintaining records to meet internal and external PAYE and audit requirements.
  • Providing administrative support to the Academy HR processes as required.

Working as part of the wider Corporate Services function, the role will also support delivery of a professional Corporate Service Administration service. This will include providing administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and other departments across the Academy on an as needs basis.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills and experience of using Microsoft Office, in particular MS Word, Excel, Outlook.

You will be required to have knowledge of Payroll and HMRC requirements and experience of processing payroll and dealing with queries using a computerised system. HR experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

You will also have an understanding of the payroll function including advising on or assisting staff with payroll related activities.

The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards a payroll qualification or have the ability to demonstrate equivalent relevant experience. Consideration may also be given to further development opportunities including the option to gain additional qualifications.
