Head of Pricing and Underwriting

We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

Main Responsibilities

• Managing the rate reviews for the Individual and SME segment working with the BG Pricing Function in the UK
• Reviewing all Corporate renewals and new business quotes produced by the BG Pricing Delivery Function
• Approving any new renewal discounts for SME or Corporate in line with the delegated authority matrix
• Running the Underwriting and Pricing Committee and managing pricing governance in BG DAC
• Approving any Medical Underwriting exceptions working with the BG Medical Underwriting Team
• Provide commercial pricing expertise to all new proposition development and product improvements
• Work closely with the Bupa Global Pricing Function in the UK on common pricing projects and initiatives
• Manage the BG DAC Product team consisting of the Product Manager and Product Analyst

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified actuary and Fellow of either the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Society of Actuaries of Ireland or equivalent level of relevant experience in health insurance industry
• Experience of insurance pricing- Essential
• Experience of general insurance or health insurance - Essential
• Experience of commercial decision making - Essential
• An appreciation of actuarial, medical and statistical issues relating to pricing - Essential
