Our client is a global company providing technical services to some of the largest UK's & worldwide engineering projects. You will be an integral part of a highly successful team that is committed to delivering ambitious projects.
They have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, experienced IT vendor manager to join the Procurement team, working in close partnership with our global Digital Technology (DT) group, focussing on our strategic vendor partnerships. This is a global role providing support for our large enterprise vendor contracts and relationships through regular engagement.
Working under the guidance of a senior procurement & strategic partnerships manager, you will be required to understand how the vendors' strategies are aligned by holding regular vendor account meetings, liaising, and co-ordination with internal global and regional stakeholders. To achieve this, you'll need a proven history of supporting medium to large vendor accounts.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting businesses global accounts with major enterprise software and hardware providers
* Assist with the planning and development of the vendor management policy, program, and day to day processes
* Keeping up to date with application roadmaps and overall vendor strategy. Understanding the potential impact of both on business project delivery and productivity. Identifying software enhancements and facilitating change when appropriate
* Regular contact & relationship engagement with vendor account managers
* Continuously monitoring vendor risk even after the contract is executed (e.g., monitoring performance levels and periodically requesting and analyzing current due diligence)
* Liaison/co-ordination with internal global and regional stakeholders to:
* Determine software needs and how these effect the long term management of a vendor solution(s)
* Understanding of business/user requirements to deliver projects and improve efficiency
* Administrating contracts (new and existing) in conjunction with purchasing, finance and key stakeholders
* Regular reporting of software usage and trends, costs, updated financial forecasts, business/ technical issues
* Identify suitable vendors, negotiate with vendors to secure the best prices for products and services, and ensure that vendors fulfil their contractual obligations.
* Administrating maintenance renewal, including purchase orders and payment of invoices.
Essential Skills needed
* Experience in a similar role at a global level
* Good working knowledge/appreciation of enterprise vendors at a global level. Ideally this would be in the technology sector (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, and Oracle)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills - you'll have regular contact with internal and external stakeholders, so you'll need to demonstrate gravitas and be comfortable communicating with individuals across all levels
* Strong documentation and numeracy skills - able to report on and explain complex issues
* Proven ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, using your skills to influence and negotiate to deliver successful outcomes
* Experience of managing projects, ideally at a global level, with an appreciation of how to successfully facilitate change
* High level of attention to detail and an ability to organize and prioritise workload
* Ability to work well within a team
* A range of qualifications will be considered as relevant to the role
