External Sales

An exciting position for an External Salesperson at the Hayley Poole branch has become available. As an external salesperson, you will use your technical knowledge along with sales skills to provide advice and support on a range of bespoke products, for which a certain level of expertise is required. You will assist colleagues with bids and tenders for new and existing clients from a technical perspective, with a view to increasing sales growth within the division. External salespeople are a key point of contact for clients and provide both pre- and post-sales advice. You would be expected to liaise regularly with other members of the sales team on these projects.

Job Title: External Sales

Location: Hayley Poole, Unit 1, Nuffield Trade Centre, 11-17 Nuffield Road, Poole, Dorset, BH17 0UF

Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. (Additional working hours may be required)

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Searching for new clients who could benefit from your products in a designated region
  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with customers
  • Managing and interpreting customer requirements
  • Advising clients on products or services that will best satisfy their needs
  • Calculating client quotations
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms
  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
  • Offering after-sales support services
  • Administering client accounts
  • Analysing costs and sales
  • Preparing reports for managers
  • Meeting regular sales targets
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data
  • Co-ordinating sales projects
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts
  • Solving client problems

Skills & Requirements

  • Experience with bespoke components would be beneficial
  • Sound judgement and good business sense
  • Able to work well as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Able to build relationships with clients
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Resilient and tenacious
