Production Operative

Reed Recruitment in Colchester are looking for multiple, immediately available Process Operatives to work for a client based on the outskirts of Colchester on a long term temporary basis (2-3 Months). There are no public transport links to travel to and from the location so access to a vehicle is vital.

The role is paying GBP8.91 + Holiday pay per hour, with two shift patterns available which are 05:30 - 14:00 or 13:30 - 22:00.

Purpose of the role

• To operate in the filling room effectively within the laid down quality standards
• To ensure we operate to HACCP and GMP principles at all times
• Maintaining all aspects of Safety, Hygiene, Quality and cost within agreed levels

Main duties include

• To adhere to all Company and Site policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Hygiene, Disciplinary, Absence and Housekeeping etc)
• Ensuring the filling room operation is carried out in line with the trained out procedures and policies
• Ensuring all raw materials are of good quality before the use
• Fill out all the relevant documentation in line with the instructions/training
• Carrying out all the compliance checks before /during and after shift
• Escalate any noncompliance in line with the training provided
• Ability to follow the correct recipe instructions and methods
• Complete all compliance /traceability paperwork in line with the instructions provided
• Adhering to the hygiene standards at the instructed frequency
• Ensuring all raw materials for the next day's production is present and of good quality
• Able to train new starters in the relevant area
• Any other reasonable request to meet the demands of the business

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• H.A.C.C.P. awareness
• Able to work as part of a Team
• Able to use own initiative
• Good Level of Mathematics and English
• Good communication skills
• The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Attention to detail
