Be Personnel has an opportunity available for a Quality Assurance Operative to work with our Client, a hugely successful business which produces the highest quality meats and great tasting products for highly recognised brands across 43 countries.
We would welcome applications from candidates who have previous experience of working within a similar role, however also those who are computer literate, have experience of working within a food processing environment and are looking to develop further skills within the industry.
The role of the Quality Assurance Operative is to provide a vital support service to the assigned production area by ensuring all customer, legislative and industry required checks are completed to schedule and documented accordingly. You will also play a key role in the control, monitoring and verification activities required by the sites H.A.C.C.P and food safety management systems.
Key responsibilities will include, although not be limited to:
* Monitoring and verifying livestock and product to ensure compliance to relevant legislative and customer specifications
* Monitoring and verifying that all product due to leave the site is within the legislative and customer specifications, and within the limits and defined criteria set out in the relevant specifications
* Ensure all product labels are accurate, to the required standard and of high print quality.
* Complete all monitoring and/or verification practices in line with the H.A.C.C.P plan
* Take samples using the Trace Soft monitoring system, complete accurate testing and recording of relevant carcasses/primals in line with sampling schedule, including pH testing in line with customer specific testing regimes and DNA testing for external laboratory analysis
* Complete accurate daily calibration checks on required equipment/machinery, including scales, before, during and after production
* Undertake assigned internal audits and participate as required in external audits

The ideal Quality Assurance Operative will have:
* Knowledge of the food processing industry and hygiene standards
* Ability to communicate fluently in English, both written and verbal
* Level 2 certificate in Food Hygiene and Manufacturing and knowledge of H.A.C.C.P principles or foundation level H.A.C.C.P is desirable although not essential
* A commitment to good practice and continual improvement
* A professional approach, strong influencing skills and meticulous attention to detail is essential to be successful in this role
In return, the successful Quality Assurance Operative will receive a rate of GBP9.28 per hour and full time work starting at 6am daily.
The successful candidate will work initially on an agency contract basis however providing standards are met, there will be opportunity to secure a permanent contract thereafter within a business which will provide a platform for growth and promotion.
