Copello have partnered with a defence business based in Poole, in the recruitment of an Electro-Mechanical Engineer. This role will act as the electrical and mechanical design authority for assigned products, leading the development of hardware, system design, post design support and product/project documentation throughout the development lifecycle process.
You will be responsible for:
- Producing and maintaining full CAD models and detailed design drawings
- Electrical/electronic and mechanical design and development of electromagnetic instrumentation
- Acting as the design authority for designated products owning all aspects of CE compliance
- Undertaking detailed mechanical analysis of designs for feasibility of construction, tolerancing, materials, stress, shock, vibration, ingress protection, thermal dynamics, environmental impact and reliability
- Undertaking root cause analysis and countermeasures activities
Ideal candidates will have:
- Qualification in Electronic hardware design, digital and analogue
- Experience of electrical and electronic product design, and electro-magnetic design
- Experience using Solidworks or similar CAD and analysis tools along with Product Data Management systems
- Solid understanding of MRP systems and BoM management.
- Solid understanding of Military, Defence and CE standard qualification test procedures.
- Material selection and analysis, thermal and mechanical analysis
- MTBF calculations
- Solid understanding of root cause and countermeasures (RCCM) techniques.
The company offers a competitive salary of GBP35-GBP45,000 (DoE) plus fantastic learning and development opportunities. The role is based out of Dorset and is commutable from Bournemouth, Weymouth, Salisbury, Southampton.
