Production Operator - Moreton-in-Marsh

Charlton Morris is working with an industrial processor of food waste and industrial processor located on the north of Gloucestershire close to Chipping Campden to find a Production Operator. The plant has been designed to handle a wide range of waste feedstocks to generate 100% renewable electricity.

Reporting to the Lead Operator / Plant Manager the Production Operator will receive and process incoming waste material ensuring that it is compliant with the permitted waste types to feed the plant accordingly, maximising energy output and cost effectiveness by smooth operation of the plant.

The Process Operator will also be responsible for:

* Operating de-packaging machinery consistently to optimise the recipe for the type of waste received and plant standard

* To safely and effectively tip trailers of waste

* To maintain equipment effectively including greasing, routine maintenance checks. To ensure that reports any equipment defects or lack of resources to the Engineering Manager

Key areas of activities include:

* Ensuring provisions are in place to allow adherence of Animal Health & Environment Agency requirements (i.e., footbaths always in operation, no food waste is spilt outside the reception hall, litter is collected / prevented from leaving the reception hall, not accepting food waste where the EWC code does not feature on our permitted list, doors not left open for prolonged periods etc.)

* Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy in all work activities

* Completing daily Mechanical Handling Equipment checks on all vehicles

* Ensuring the packaging waste within the Reception Hall goes into the correct streams for the daily skip movements (i.e., landfill, recycling etc.)

* Report any issues, shortages, and problems to the correct lead following business process

* Support and monitor the digestate transfer operation as required

* Ensuring that time keeping, and punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level.

* To undertake such other activities as may reasonably be required from time to time and which are within the competency of the job holder.

Essential skills:

* Motivated Self - Starter with good attention to detail

* Ability to write clear and concise English.

* Ability to speak clearly and concisely and communicate effectively.

* Reliability, discretion, diplomatic manner and impartiality of judgment

* Lifting, twisting and turning whilst de-canting will be involved with possible individual pack weights of up to 20kgs

Desirable:

* GCSE or Equivalent in Maths / English or Science

* Emergency First Aid Trained

* JCB / Tale Truck experience

* Previous experience in Anaerobic digestion

* Previous plant experience or basic plant operator skills
