This is an exceptional opportunity to lead on all aspects of musical life in one of the largest co-educational boarding and day schools in the UK. The investment in our Music Department continues to be central to the School Development Plan. A new Prep Music Centre opens in January 2022, following the success of the Years 3 & 4 Music Scheme. In 2020, the School built a large outdoor auditorium, part of a recent £3.5m investment in the performing arts. The Prep Divisions have recently expanded to 3-form entry and we have record Sixth Form numbers. New Hall musicians have gone on to study Music at Oxbridge and performance at conservatoires.

The Director of Music has responsibility for our vibrant Music co-curriculum, overseeing a rich programme of instrumental tuition and many choirs, orchestras, ensembles, bands and groups. The Director of Music will be required to teach Music to GCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will be responsible for the liturgical music that is at the heart of New Hall Catholic life.

This post would suit an experienced Director of Music. For a less experienced candidate, with exceptional qualifications and talent; the School will provide leadership and management training.

New Hall is committed to increasing the number of staff from ethnic minorities, across all roles and at all levels, to reflect our diverse student population. Applications from practising Catholics are particularly welcome. The Equal Opportunities Policy can be found on the website
