Part-time, term-time only plus one week (40 weeks per year).
Hours: 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Salary: £18,350.53 (£20,898 FTE) to £19,391.08 (£22,083 FTE) per annum.
The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and hardworking Film and Media Technician to support the Department. The post holder will work closely with the teachers to facilitate the practical components of the courses including supervising students completing projects and developing their film-making skills.
The role will include setting up and maintaining equipment, as well as the College’s Studios. The post is student facing and applicants must be confident working with young people. A high level of practical and organisational skills are essential.
The post is available immediately on a permanent, part-time basis (87.81%). The post holder will be required to work term-time only, plus one additional week in college holidays, from 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday (with 45 minutes unpaid lunch break). The hours may be adjusted each academic year to ensure coverage during the college day. The additional week will be agreed with the Line Manager subject to the needs of the Department and may be utilised throughout the year as individual days.
Our ideal person will have experience in setting up filming shoots, editing footage and maintaining audio visual equipment. Previous experience of Macs and using professional packages such as Final Cut Pro, GarageBand and Adobe Creative Suite are essential.
