During the COVID-19 pandemic the Commissioning Team has faced its biggest challenges, and been at the forefront of the work with the adult care sector in Solihull.

We are now preparing for the Covid recovery and reset phase. Responding to the challenges facing the market following the after effects of the pandemic for the social care sector, we are seeking an experienced Contract/ Commissioning Manager to help us deliver a fresh approach as we look to adapt and be sustainable in the future.

As Commissioning Manager you will support our Strategic Commissioners and lead on work related to market support, quality and performance improvement.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual with quality assurance, commissioning or operational experience is adult social care. You will have an ability to work at pace, manage and support a committed team of staff, communicate clearly your understanding of what excellent social care looks like, and work effectively with a range of providers to facilitate any improvements required.

You will bring your knowledge of what matters to people who use care and support services, the ability to assess and identify both good quality and areas of deficiency, and work with team colleagues to monitor and improve provider effectiveness.

In return, you will be part of a dedicated team where you will be really valued and within a local authority that really understands and values the contribution of Adult Social Care and Support to the local community, and the importance of commissioning in the delivery of these services.

We also understand that our employees want to do more than just work, and encourage good work-life balance by offering a flexible and agile working environment; this is further supplemented by an extensive wellbeing offer, as well as a range of other benefits including staff discounts and a career average pension scheme.

The role is currently mainly working from home (although we expect to reintroduce some office working at our Council building in Solihull as appropriate), there may be some weekend on-call cover arrangements as part of this role.

Whilst this post is full time, applications for part time working will be considered.
