About The Role
As the second largest Building Society in the UK and the 8th largest lender, we know a thing or two about Savings and Mortgages. The Society has grown significantly over the past decade in particular and now has over 2500 employees and 1.8 million members. The Society is a Which recommended savings provider and we're proud to be one of the Best Big Companies to work for.
This is a key role in the Credit Risk Data Engineering team, providing an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help us modernise and improve Credit Risk data systems as we shift from SAS to Python for data pipelines and model execution. We are a small and forward-thinking team and we're looking for a dynamic individual happy to contribute wherever their knowledge and skills are needed.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves tackling complex problems, making an impact and being part of exciting greenfield projects.
About You
You'll be technically adept, with a track record of taking on new tools and technologies. You'll have excellent attention to detail and an ability to logically break down complicated requirements into deliverable components.
Motivated to learn and empower others, you'll be accustomed to working as part of a team to deliver complex requirements and also possess the ability to communicate complex ideas to a non-technical audience.
Excellent programming ability in Python and SQL are essential. Ideally you will have data warehousing experience (Kimball) and be used to working in an Agile (Scrum) environment.
Additionally any web development experience would be a bonus.
