Salary: £29,512 pa rising to £36,123 pa after three yearsꞌ service.
Location: Head Office, Salford Quays, M50 3XZ.
A vacancy exists for an IT Helpdesk Support Assistant in the ICT Department based at the Union’s Head Office in Salford Quays, Manchester.
Principal duties are to: provide first and second line helpdesk assistance and technical support; to undertake Mitel phone administration and support; provide technical and user support for mobile devices; participate in technical projects and provide help and guidance to the first line Helpdesk Support Assistant.
The successful applicant will possess: an SDI (Service Desk Institute) qualification or equivalent (desirable but not essential); advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel; knowledge of Microsoft Server products including Active Directory, Group Policy Management, WDS (Windows Deployment Server), WSUS (Windows Update Server) and Microsoft Exchange; knowledge of Mitel telephone system administration, configuration and troubleshooting; knowledge and experience of using an MDM solution for managing mobile phone estate; in-depth knowledge of Network troubleshooting and testing including, PC's, laptops, printers, photocopiers, Wi-Fi and servers; a knowledge of networking technologies (Switches, Routers, MPLS, VPN, DMZ, VLAN, DHCP, and DNS); knowledge of SharePoint; knowledge of Network Port management.
