Looking to start a challenging and rewarding career in accountancy at one of the region’s most prestigious and highly regarded practices?

We are now accepting applications for our AAT and ICAEW/ACCA trainee programmes which commence in the autumn of 2022. Trainee vacancies are available at the Ensors offices noted above. (Please note that no vacancies are available at our London office).

By joining us as a Trainee Accountant you will be able to study for professional qualifications whilst also gaining vital hands-on, task-focussed work experience in our busy, growing, multi-disciplinary practice

As an AAT trainee you will follow formal training through an apprenticeship framework for the AAT qualification. We would expect applicants to be non-graduates and require you to have (or be predicted to gain) either a minimum of 2 A levels at Grade C or above (including Maths) OR the equivalent standard in a business-related vocational qualification. If you do not hold a Maths A level, then we expect a minimum attainment of Grade 6 / Grade B in GCSE Maths. Once AAT qualified you may go on to study for chartered qualifications.

As an applicant for the ICAEW (also known as ACA) or ACCA trainee programme we would expect you to be a graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree

Key skills required:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Self motivated, hard working, flexible and prepared to undertake some travel.
  • Ambitious with drive and resilience.
  • Enthusiasm with a keen interest in learning and professional development.
  • Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail.

We have a fantastic study support package to offer. The firm will pay all tuition and Institute fees and you will also be entitled to paid time off for your studies, along with mentoring support.

Our client portfolio includes business clients across the spectrum from the very small to groups turning over several hundreds of million pounds including OMBs, subsidiaries of larger international groups, charities, pension schemes and LLPs. Therefore, we can offer you a stimulating and varied portfolio of work, coupled with the possibility of rotation across a number of our departments during your training period. Further information about working life as a trainee at Ensors, and what our current trainees have to say about working for us, is available here: https://www.ensors.co.uk/about-us/workingatensors/trainee-scheme/

If you are interested in joining our award-winning team and earning while you learn at Ensors, please submit your CV and covering letter via email to recruitment@ensors.co.uk. Please also include the following information:
