Location: Head Office, Salford Quays, M50 3XZ
A vacancy exists for a Senior .NET Developer in the ICT Department based at the Union’s Head Office in Salford Quays, Manchester.
The successful applicant will possess a valid driving licence and be required to live within 50 miles of their office base. There are no set hours for this position and the postholder will be expected to be adaptable to meet the needs of the service, which could include travel over a wide geographical area and overnight stays.
Principal duties are: to collaborate with the ICT support team and management team to ensure the effective delivery of new and existing software; manage and support existing
in-house software and develop new applications to support the Union's membership and ongoing recruitment; oversee and participate in requirements analysis for new software and new releases of existing software; develop technical specifications and architecture including RDMS database design to support modern .NET applications; provide expert guidance on software and provide technical support.
The successful applicant will possess: a degree in Software Development or a similar relevant degree is preferred but is not essential; knowledge of Visual Basic, .NET & MVC, HML5/CSS, Web API, Rest, JavaScript; knowledge of MSSQL and database design including indexes and data integrity; an understanding and experience of staff management, training and development.
