Mech Tech Professionals is actively recruiting for an experienced Site Quality Inspector (Weld Inspector) for our established and expanding client based in Bristol.
This role is offered on a permanent basis and will be based on site at HPC.
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the successful candidate will be supporting the quality processes to continually ensure the high level of quality standards are continually maintained in accordance with requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Ensure the Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures are fully compliant to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
* Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
* Approve finished products and welds by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement dimensional tests; returning products for rework; confirming rework.
* Undertake project work in support of quality department on topics such as, quality plan, procedure writing, problem solving, investigation reporting, audit and governance programmes.
* Liaise with internal and external customers on Quality concerns.
* Coordinate monthly reviews and reporting of progress against the annual quality improvement plans.
* Monitor all inspection activities.
* Ensure compliance to the contract quality assurance plan.
* Ensure compliance to customer and product specifications through meticulous inspections.
* Monitor sub-contractors.
* Approving in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
* Managing non-conformities and assist in addressing them. Managing corrective and preventative actions and organising their implementation
* Dealing with document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarising rework and waste.
* Keeping measurement equipment in working condition by following operating instructions and arranging any repairs required.
* Accomplishing constant quality and organising jobs by completing related results as needed.
* Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
* Exchanging with the client quality inspector.
To be considered for this position, we require the following skills and experience:
Knowledge of Quality tools and systems e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, EFQA etc.
Proven relevant experience as a QA Engineer
Experience of developing and implementing processes and procedures.
Experience leading investigations / problem solving
High level of competence in MS Office products
Sound welding knowledge
Knowledge in fabrication and tank & pressure designs
Previous experience of working in a multinational team would be beneficial
Previous experience in a highly regulated industry
Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14000 and OSHAS 45001
Knowledge of Dye Penetrant Testing distinct advantage
Experience within fabrication, welding, and stainless steel
Qualifications:
* Degree educated or relevant engineering qualification
* Minimum CSWIP Level 2 Welding Inspection
* Multi discipline Non-destructive testing training
* Responsible welding co-ordinator
* CSCS Managers and Professionals Test
* SMSTS (desirable)
