About the Role
The successful candidate will work within the Legal Operations team, an operational team made up of paralegals and legal professionals working for a wide range of clients from sectors such as Luxury brands, Banks, Manufacturing and more.
This opportunity is in our fast growing team as a Legal Operations Senior Associate. We are looking for legal-focused professionals who have experience in a legal and/or corporate environment.
The responsibilities of each role will vary depending on client needs but may include:
Providing support on various banking projects, including risk, regulation and commercial projects
Managing escalations of complex cases, ensuring the right SME insight is obtained and cases are brought to a resolution
Checking legal documentation for quality, consistency and content
Client outreach activities across a number of different regulations and document types
Case and documentation review - analysing legal and other documents to identify key facts, anomalies, etc, for categorisation
Supporting customer service activities and supporting junior members of the team handling complex or difficult client situations
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating trading contracts such as ISDA Master Agreements and Commercial lending agreements
Managing your own workload, including reporting on progress and issues
Developing the ability to be agile and support a range of client/projects
Identifying opportunities for efficiencies and taking action to implement them
Who we are Looking For
Requirements
Previous experience working in a legal, operational or professional services environment
Excellent academic background, minimum 2.1 in a legal or STEM subject
Proven ability to integrate well into a team and build relationships well with senior stakeholders
Proven analytical and sceptical mindset with an ability to develop solutions to technical problems
Self-starter and motivated to succeed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite, in particular strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable
Additional language capabilities
Understanding of quality control methodologies
A good working knowledge of derivatives and loan documentation
Previous exposure to the Financial Services, Public Sector or Commercial sectors
Previous experience of working in a regulatory driven change environment
Where will you be based?
These roles are open to both our Belfast and Cardiff offices. As a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations within the UK and beyond for short, medium and long term periods of time. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered.
