Procurement Senior Buyer

A leading design and manufacturing business supplying product to the aerospace sector require a Senior Buyer. Applicants need exposure to strategic sourcing, NPI and have purchased across electronic and mechanical supply chains.

The Senior Buyer will join a team of Senior Buyers, reporting into a Procurement Manager. This is an interesting, fast-paced manufacturing environment in which the job holder will work closely with stakeholders in production, quality and operational procurement. The Senior Buyer will contribute to both sales targets and NPI. Hybrid working arrangements can be offered.

Specific tasks of the Senior Buyer include:

• Supply market analysis, supplier identification and selection/de-selection
• Foster collaborative relationship with a global supplier base
• Procure across; machining, electronics, raw materials and mechanical items
• Maintain procurement data in MRP
• Support cost down and cost mitigation, and value add activities
• Work on NPI projects - be procurement representative, investigate supply sources

Senior Buyer applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Procurement, Purchasing or experience as Buyer or Senior Buyer within manufacturing or engineering
• Be able to evidence strategic procurement activities - savings, value add, supplier rationalisation
• Comfortable supporting NPI activities
• MRP literate
• Experience with global supply chains
