A leading design and manufacturing business supplying product to the aerospace sector require a Procurement Manager. Applicants need managerial experience, strategic sourcing and negotiation skills and understand global supply chains.
The Procurement Manager will manage a small team of Senior Buyers, and will report into both Operations in the UK and Strategic Procurement in Europe. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for a spend of cGBP20M, and is charged with achieving FY22 savings target. Spend is split across a number of commodity areas - machining, electronics, raw materials and mechanical items. Hybrid working arrangements can be offered.
Specific duties of the Procurement Manager include:
- Management and development of the procurement team
- Lead supplier selection/de-selection activities
- Collaborate with Strategic Procurement in Europe in regards to indirect spend
- Drive and delegate procurement's involvement in NPI
- Lead in the negotiation and agreement of long term supply contracts with the supply chain
- Supply chain risk identification
- Process improvement within the procurement function
Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Purchasing Manager or Procurement Manager experience within manufacturing or engineering
- Leadership qualities
- Negotiation expertise and contractually strong, comfortable with complex negotiations
- Understanding of global supply chain
- Comfortable with NPI and strategic procurement activity
