We have an exciting new opportunity for a permanent full-time Governance Support Officer to work within our Team here at Thrive Homes!

Thrive Homes is an award-winning housing association with a strong track record and ambitious plans. As a Governance Support Officer, you will assist Thrive in delivering its objective of being a well governed organisation by supporting the Board, Committees, Executive and Leadership Team. You will work alongside and together with other members of the Business Assurance & Risk Team to deliver a robust, efficient and professional service to key stakeholders and the business. Areas of responsibility will include:

  • Provide comprehensive governance support and advice to colleagues across the business ensuring that Thrive has robust systems and records in place to support its objective of being well governed and maintaining a G1 regulatory rating.
  • Assist the Governance Business Partner in disseminating relevant information about legislation, regulation, guidance and good practice to executive directors, assistant directors, managers, and other colleagues.
  • Support/monitor delivery of plans to implement changes.
  • Understand the Board & Committee cycle and related documentation e.g. agendas, reports, upload of papers to Decision Time, etc.
  • Produce comprehensive and accurate minutes and Chairs' reports in a timely manner.
  • Manage the follow up of actions and decisions made in line with the agreed process.
  • Manage the process for onboarding new Board members; ensuring that all paperwork is completed and actioned in accordance with the agreed procedure.
  • Manage and administer the process designed to protect the data we collect, store and transfer; ensuring that all data protection issues are dealt with in accordance with the agreed process and timeline.
  • Conduct regular analysis of data protection incidents to identify areas of concern and report back to the wider Business Assurance & Risk Team as required.
  • Encourage best practice and deliver strategies to help colleagues avoid unnecessary breaches in the future.
  • Manage Thrive Homes and Thrive Living Limited's policy trackers and libraries in accordance with the agreed process and timelines.
  • Ensure that all policies are reviewed and updated in a timely manner.
  • Manage and develop the Governance SharePoint site on the Hub.
  • Develop a contents library with other members of the Governance and Communications teams.
  • Ensure all content conforms with branding guidelines and is kept up to date.
  • Diarise regular Lunch and Learn sessions.
  • Agree content with Business Assurance & Risk Team and undertake all necessary admin to support the sessions.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties/projects as required by your line manager

Requirements

  • A proven track record of delivering exemplary PA/administrative support.
  • The ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent Office 365 skills (particularly Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grades A-C to include Maths & English.
  • A further business-related qualification would be a bonus, but not essential.
  • You will have excellent administration skills and perform all tasks to the highest standard whilst adhering to strict timelines/deadlines and demonstrating a strong standard of attention to detail.
  • You will possess excellent minute taking skills and be familiar with the admin process followed to support meetings, including the use of board portal software (although full training will be given).
  • You will be able to manage a diverse workload, prioritising tasks to ensure they are delivered in a timely manner.
  • You will be discrete and exercise the highest levels of confidentiality.

  • Competitive Salary up to GBP28,787 per annum depending on experience.
