Sports Coach - Lincoln
Temporary to Permanent role
Currently Simply Education are working with an outstanding setting in Lincoln and they are looking to appoint a Sports Coach to join their team for the new academic year.
The school is an independent and specialist provider of alternative education and really focuses on young people who have become disengaged from mainstream education or have a statement for special educational needs. The school offer a personalized education to secondary aged students at their Ofsted rated outstanding school in Bilston.
The students are the school are aged between 13- 16 years, KS3 and KS4, but their lessons aren't restricted to the kind found in mainstream schools. From achieving GCSEs and key learning milestones to pursuing ASDAN qualifications and enjoying extra-curricular activities, there is plenty to get young people motivated.
If you are looking for a route to get into teaching this is a fantastic opportunity to start your career off. A lot of the pupils in Secondary are passionate about sport and are able to find common ground with you, often because of your background you are able to make positive connections with young people and act as a role model inspiring young people to go into a sports career themselves. So you may not have worked with SEN pupils before however training and support will be given to you in this role.
Duties
Full time working Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 4pm.
The timetable would be 3 days teaching sports and 2 days within the classroom setting.
They would be looking for you to coach a range of sports such as football and take the students to the gym and out on trips.
You would have the opportunity to work with pupils with complex behavior either on a 1-1 basis or in small groups
You will be supporting and guiding the young people inside and outside of a school setting
Experience
Coached sports to young people either in a class setting or out of school clubs.
Good communication skills
Ability to encourage young people to learn and reach their full potential
