Our client, a respected local authority is recruiting for a Housing Officer on an interim basis through until March 2022, with an immediate start date.

This position is based in Barrhead, with a degree of remote working.

The hourly rate for this position is GBP15.38

Based within the Neighbourhood Services Team , this role predominately deals with Estate Management and Rent Arrears.

Main duties:
To provide advice and assistance to all applicants for housing.
To provide advice on the appropriate lettable standard in relation to a particular property
To assess, along with the void officer, the appropriate level of repairs required for void properties and to monitor compliance with this standard
To minimise the time from notification of termination to relet for all voids and to liaise with other staff within the Council to ensure the quickest possible relet of all void houses.
To provide tenants with a high quality and comprehensive estate management service.
To monitor estates to identify illegal occupiers, absconders and other changes in tenancies and take appropriate action.
To monitor environmental standards in their estates, identify improvement required and take action to encourage improvements including liaison with other Departments/Divisions of the Council
To take action to enforce the conditions of lease where tenants are in breach.
To attend tenant association and other residents meetings as required to give advice and assistance.
To liase as necessary with tenants before and during major works being carried out on houses.
To attend emergencies and render assistance as appropriate.
To prepare answers for correspondence on matters relating to their work.
To visit and advise Council tenants whose rent accounts are in arrears.
To carry out assist in the process of accompanied viewings with prospective tenants
To contribute to the regular review of practices and procedures to ensure that best value is achieved.
To offer advice regarding house sales disposal plans, boundary disputes and disposal of HRA land.
To investigate, advise and refer matters relating to anti-social behaviour.
To signpost clients to multi agency services for the provision of specialist advice. Give information for multi-agency e.g. case conferences, care programming
