The Manufacturing Technology Centre is collaborating with the UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) and the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) to train and develop apprentices in a brand new purpose built training academy in Oxfordshire.

Courses will be delivered by the MTC, replicating the industry-leading Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre on the MTC campus in Coventry. The AMTC has rapidly built a reputation for equipping apprentices not only with core engineering skills but also the latest advanced manufacturing techniques. The environment is both dynamic and engaging, supporting the next generation of highly skilled and agile Engineers.

Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit the MTC are seeking an Engineering Trainer - Electrical to support the electrical controls provision

The Role

The Engineering Trainer - Electrical Control will involve supporting the OAS and Antsy team via face to face and virtual delivery of subjects including motor control and panel wiring, electrical principles, maths and electrical science-based subjects.

You will be expected to deliver across the provision and will ideally have (but not essential) classroom-based experience with the knowledge and experience to deliver theoretical knowledge and practical competency elements.

Duties and responsibilities for the role of Engineering Trainer - Electrical include:
Effective delivery of Electrical principles, PLCs, Robotics, Maths and industrial electrical control, motor control and panel building paying due regard to developing independent learners, and enabling apprentice progression towards successful completion of both the level 3 apprenticeship & HNC programmes.
Develop ways of working that are responsive to learners' needs, monitor and evaluate progress and practice and prepare learners for examinations.
To work closely with the delivery team to support learners with barriers to learning.
To act as the Electrical lead (as per your specialism; industrial electrical control and/or PLCs and robots) all apprentice support and progress for the complete apprentice journey up to and including the HNC programme
Provide accurate and timely data and information, including registers, assessments, examination details and progress reports.
Attend and contribute to Apprenticeship team meetings and student success meetings and reviews as required.

The Person

The successful candidate for the Engineering Trainer - Electrical will have/be:
Current competence within Electrical and Electronics, Ind. Electrical controls PLC, robotics, Maths skills delivery at Level 3 and 4 and experience working with Apprentices
Must be 18th Edition qualified to deliver Industrial Electrical engineering
IT literate including MS Teams, generic Microsoft Office packages including Word, PowerPoint and MS Outlook. As well relevant Siemens TIA portal.
A good standard of written and verbal communication focused on delivering objectives, developmental SMART targets and apprentice feedback/ reviews
Problem solving and decision-making skills
Appropriate Qualifications at minimum HNC or an equivalent Engineering Qualification - Essential
GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) - Essential
An endorsed teaching qualification - PTLLS, DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent - Essential
An endorsed assessor qualification (TAQA L3) - Desirable
