???????Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an Employment Advisor for our client, a local charity based in Kent.

Hours: Monday - Friday 37.5 hours a week

Salary: GBP20,886 - GBP23,584 per annum

Duration: To October 2022 (chance of extension)

Location: Swale & Medway

The successful Employment Advisor will be responsible for effectively managing a caseload of up to 20-30 clients at any one time. The clients are currently off work/unemployed, receiving secondary mental health services at the time of referral and wish to gain paid employment.

Responsibilities include:

  • To prepare individuals for a return to work by supporting clients to understand their skills, aspirations and goals.
  • To focus on rapid job search with the clients, whilst utilising local support networks to help them overcome their barriers to employment.
  • To source job opportunities for clients through tailored job search and regular contact with employers.
  • To develop relationships with local employers to negotiate job opportunities.
  • When placing clients with employers, to ensure that the quality of work environments is explored, including potential for workplace adjustments.
  • To develop effective working relationships with a range of external agencies who can help individuals to achieve their employment goals.
  • To provide education and support to employers, as agreed with the individual, which may include negotiating adjustments, return to work strategy and on-going contact with the employer to ensure job retention.
  • To provide support to clients once to work to assist them in sustaining employment.
  • To regularly collect and promote clients' employment recovery stories.

Responsibilities include:

  • Experience of delivering employment advice and support
  • Experience of working in a person centred and target focused environment
  • Experience of motivating others
  • Experience of managing a caseload of clients
  • Experience of assisting people with mental health conditions into employment
  • Excellent IT skills (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, using a Smartphone, using the internet)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to initiate and maintain positive working relationships with wide range of clients and other stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the issues associated with mental health and unemployment including vocational barriers and strategies to overcome these barriers

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential you have your own transport. You will also be required to complete a DBS check.
