We are looking to hire a Graduate Development Engineer to work within the Advanced Development team. The job role involves design and development of innovative fuel injection equipment and associated system components for future automotive requirements. It will also involve the testing and validation of components, and generating specifications based on customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- To evaluate customer and internal requirements and identify gaps to current products.
- To define, prioritize and execute tasks required to meet core team and project objectives.
- To develop test equipment and instrumentation.
- To define performance criteria and execute test plans on injector test rigs, engines and/or
vehicles to demonstrate product performance.
- To organise the procurement and testing of sample hardware to meet project requirements.
- To interpret test data using analytical tools and provide synthesis of results.
- To prepare reports, presentations and technical documentation for internal and customer use.
- To provide clear analysis and summaries for decision making.
- To apply engineering standards, procedures and methodologies to execute project activities.
- To develop strong technical relationships with product or manufacturing engineering teams, customers and key suppliers.
- To interpret test data using analytical tools and provide synthesis of results.
- To assess and improve designs using established DFMEA methods to develop a robust product
SKILLS
Mandatory
- Understanding of detailed engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
- IT knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
- English language in both written and spoken to a strong professional level.
- Personal and presentation skills, to enable liaison with internal teams and to represent BorgWarner to external clients.
Desirable

- Able to operate effectively in a multi-national multi-lingual project environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage several tasks at once.
- Ability to apply DFMEA methodology.
- Understanding of the capabilities of CAD and data manipulation packages (i.e. Solidworks and NI Labview / Diadem).
- Ability to use data processing and test automation software, such as Matlab or Labview, for collecting and processing data.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE
Mandatory
?? Degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or related subject.
Desirable
?? Experience with high pressure hydraulic and electromechanical systems.
?? Familiarity with high performance materials engineering and manufacturing processes e.g. grinding, heat treatment, injection moulding.
?? Application of simulation methodology and fundamental physical principles to the design of hydraulic components (i.e. CFD, AMESim etc.).
?? Experience of analysis and interpretation of results.
