GBP30,000 - GBP34,000 PA

Plus excellent bonus and benefits circa GBP38,000

This is a key role in ensuring the business fulfils its H&S obligations to its staff, visitors, and contractors, and maintains standards to ensure compliance with ISO 45001. This role is integral to the successful operation of the Midlands office, housing approximately 900 staff members as well as our Nottingham office, housing approximately 100 staff members.

This is a pivotal role supporting all members of staff. Relationships will be mainly with the Business Services Manager and Office Leader, but also work closely with the facilities team. The ideal candidate will have experience of Health & Safety within an office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling all enquiries relating to health and safety related to the building and office.
  • Conducting accident investigations, liaising with all relevant internal teams such as H&S Team, Fire Marshals and First aiders as appropriate.
  • Complete and maintain records for incidents and Accident Reports
  • Conduct follow-ups on corrective action and ensuring effectiveness and closure of incidents/accidents.
  • Manage and take necessary actions arising from audit reports relating to H&S matters
  • Working to set Service Level Agreements and Performance standards
  • Liaising with internal staff and HR teams regarding staff working conditions and accessibility
  • Ensure all new starters and permanent staff are fully inducted to H&S standards
  • Carry out new and expectant mothers risk assessments
  • Arranging and attending local H&S meetings, implementing actions agreed
  • Producing reports and department statistics
  • Update system to keep fire marshals and first aider information up to date and arrange training when appropriate
  • Maintain H&S training records and ensure they are kept up to date
  • Update H&S noticeboards
  • Occasional travel to other offices

Requirements and skills

  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Previous experience in similar role - preferably within an office environment
