Materials Manager/Continuous Improvement Manager

Your new role
In this role you will focus on bringing improvements to Materials Management function, with the key objectives being optimisation of parts for production, ensuring availability while controlling costs. This is a broad remit to identify opportunities for improvement. You will pick up existing projects with your line manager, but also have the freedom to collaborate with stakeholders across the business, to identify how the Materials and Supply Chain control function can help to solve problems and drive efficiency.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be proven in a manufacturing environment, and could come from either Business Process/Continuous Improvement background, or a Materials Management/Supply Chain/Purchasing background, the essential criteria being the ability to demonstrate how your actions have improved performance. You may have experience of formal lean techniques (eg Six Sigma, Lean, World Class Manufacturing, DMAIC etc) but this is not essential. You will be self motivated with Project Management skills (Prince 2 is an advantage but not essential). You will be familiar with using ERP functions within manufacturing (SAP ideally), have strong Excel skills and the ability to use data to support your decision making.
