Title: Business Support Apprentice
Location: HMP Ashfield - Bristol BS16 9QJ
Working Week: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 08:00-16:30.
Salary: Up to GBP15,000 per annum plus benefits & 23 days annual leave
Apprenticeship Qualification: L3 Business Administrator Standard
Expected Apprenticeship Duration: 12 months minimum

You will develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside your colleagues and getting hands on experience.
As our Business Professional apprentice, you'll provide administrative support to the Governance Department at our contract at HMP Ashfield. Working closely with the Business Service Manager to provide administrative support you'll work efficiently within the team and support with ad hoc additional duties as required. Other key duties include:
?? Booking visitors in on the CMS system
?? Operation of the switchboard
?? Support to the mail room
?? Attending and taking minutes and preparation of supporting papers for meetings
?? Dealing with sensitive and confidential material appropriately
?? Provide ad hoc administrative support as required
?? Preparation of internal and external responses to inbound communications
?? Logging data onto spreadsheets
?? Other administration activities such as filing, correspondence, etc.
As part of the apprenticeship scheme we'll provide you with L3 Business Administration and L2 Functional English and Maths training (all delivered by our Apprenticeship team at Serco). You'll also have access to a treasure trove of development opportunities and enjoy the full training, support, and encouragement of our super-friendly team. You will develop the skills you need for the job by working alongside your colleagues and getting hands on experience.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to be organised, able to plan and prioritise and be a real problem solver! So as well as excellent IT skills you'll be someone who is thorough and organised in your working approach and be comfortable in dealing with sensitive and confidential material in an appropriate manner.
The role requires a pro-active, well-organised and confident individual with a methodical approach to problem solving along with excellent customer service skills. Your ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbally) as well as being a committed team player is vital in keeping your internal customers happy.
You'll be happy working with MS Office Suite and be confident taking minutes and inputting data, you'll need to have above a C Maths and English (or 4under the new grading system) and have a strong interest in Business Administration.
