Monday to Friday; 40 hours per week

Large manufacturing company based near Halstead, Essex

Job Description:

Processing enquiries, specification of equipment and quotation work for the Company's products and services. Updating the CRM database as necessary.
Proper performance of all aspects of the contract including cost control, drawing preparation, contract documentation; procurement of certain materials, parts and services; client and factory liaison; expediting.
Quality Assurance and quality control within your area of responsibility.
Receive and acknowledge enquiries. Handle those allocated to you by the Projects Manager.
Unless otherwise instructed, deal with all enquiries as follows:
Determine the clients' requirements, and having regard to his specification and information obtained from the Sales Manager, Sales and Technical Director and Sales and Marketing personnel, recommend suitable material to satisfy the requirement of the enquiry/order.
Price the products/services and determine delivery and commercial terms in accordance with the Company's policies. Prepare and submit quotations;
Liaise with the Projects Manager, Sales Manager, Sales & Technical Director, Sales and Marketing personnel;
Report regularly to the Projects Manager on matters for which you are responsible;
Review the technical and commercial requirements of contracts received and resolve any problems relating to them with the Projects Manager and/or the client.
Provide the Manufacturing Director or Materials Controller with details of orders taken and material requirements. Procure any special materials from approved sources of supply, with particular emphasis on controlling costs ensuring the contract deliveries the required margin, noting the requirements of quality assurance and delivery time
Check any performance calculation or other technical data prepared during the quotation period and ensure that such data is recorded on the appropriate sheets and retained in the contract file. Arrange all aspects of drawing work with the Technical Manager. Monitor the preparation of such drawings and liaise with the Technical Manager to ensure that all design work is satisfactory and fully meets the clients' requirements. Progress the preparation of the drawings to meet the predetermined agreed dates for approval and subsequent issue to the factory
Be aware of the policies laid down in the Group Quality Assurance manual and the procedures relevant to your duties, as specified in the Group Operating Procedures and ensure compliance. Advise the Projects Manager of any difficulties and changes considered necessary
Oversee all contract and customer documentation ensuring it is prepared in compliance with Company procedures and contract requirements. Liaise with the Manufacturing Director, Production Controller and Materials Controller and attend Production Meetings as necessary;
Expedite the PML Works and sub-contracted suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract programme including cost control. Ensure that
customers are fully informed of any changes. Arrange and supervise customer Factory Acceptance Tests as necessary
Ensure that changes to contract affecting either price or delivery or both are fully monitored, and variation orders promptly obtained from customers;
Maintain good relationships with clients. Visit them as necessary on contractual matters, and as agreed with the Projects Manager to give support;
Carry out the above functions and such other duties as may be allocated to you from time to time, all in accordance with the Company's standard procedures laid down in the Group Quality Assurance manual and the procedures relevant to your duties;

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

A good level of education to HND or equivalent.
Experience of Project Management and Cost control.
Experience in Technical Sales.
Previous experience in a Mechanical or Air Movement engineering environment would be an advantage, but not essential.
Ability to work within a small team.
Good organisational skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritise multi tasks.
Ability to work to deadlines.
Ability to understand technical drawings.
Ability to interpret and understand Customer's requirements.
