Our client in Basildon is looking for a new Logistics Engineering Technician to Manage the Logistics Engineering team & strategies for their Basildon plant.
The logistics engineering team defines how all parts arrive at the plant and how they flow through the plant to the final fitment point. This includes making improvements to the current processes as well as evaluating the new product impacts on the plant and defining strategies to accommodate additional parts from space optimisation through to changes delivery and kit carts.
Key responsibilities will be:
* Evaluation of new program impact
* Guarantee logistics side is prepared for the launch of the new program
* Project management of warehouse installations
* Outline budget requirements for upcoming launches & track budget in conjunction with launch manager
* Working with production teams to get their buy-in on the solution
* Taking a key role in the LCS pillar within WCM
* Analysis of missing parts/build fewer scenarios/KPI's to develop strategies to improve
* Parameter management guidelines for the team
* Root cause analysis of problems
* Quick response to technical issues
* Resolution of quality issues caused by handling
* Liaise with internal customers and understand their needs and constraints
* Identify and remove waste from the internal material flow
* Collaborate with the workplace organisation to move towards the ideal production system
* Implement projects in accordance with timelines identified
* Raise purchase orders and manage them within SAP
