Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit Learning Assistant's to work 1:1 with pupils at a new school in Saltash, Cornwall. The right candidate should be motivated and looking to constantly progress within the school whilst providing an enthusiastic and positive attitude to teaching and learning at all times. You will be working alongside children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH), Autism and other learning difficulties (Team Teach or equivalent training an advantage but not essential). The role is full time with the hours 8:30am - 4pm and will lead to a permanent position to the right candidate.
You will need to offer a nurturing, safe and non-judgemental space for children who display challenging behaviour. These pupils might be LAC (Looked After Children) or from a disadvantaged background so it's essential that you are patient and empathetic. You must provide an excellent contribution to their education and lives. The school is based in Saltash, and although you will be working 1:1 it may be asked that occasionally you assist small groups of students. As well as supporting their learning, you will be tracking their school and personal progression and working closely with other teachers to ensure all needs are met and classes are tailored to each of the children's individual needs.
