Responsibilities

Weatherford are hiring for a Senior Procurement Specialist in our Scott, Louisiana manufacturing facility. This is a customer focused, rewarding role where you will have responsibility for identifying, qualifying and supporting new vendors as well as assessing supplier capabilities and making recommendations on new supplier acceptability. The Senior Procurement Specialist is also responsible for coordination with product lines on technical aspects for externally sourced materials.

Responsibilities & Duties of the Senior Procurement Specialist include:

  • Responsibility for maintaining continuous communications with external suppliers for status updates to open orders
  • Maintain accuracy of information contained in system.
  • Prepare requests for quote packages, ensuring all quality and engineering questions are resolved prior to releasing for quote.
  • Know and understand the Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
Qualifications
  • A thorough understanding of procurement principles and experience developing procurement strategies.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about procurement with excellent communication skills; results and people oriented; strong project management and influencing skills
  • Strong negotiator and ability to deal effectively with national and international suppliers
  • Very strong analytical skills and understanding of fundamental financial concepts
  • Understanding of Business Controls Policies, Processes and Procedures
  • Computer literate. Experienced user of MS Office programs and ERP systems (JDE Procurement modules preferred)
  • Excellent Excel Skills Required
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with only little or remote supervision.
  • No-nonsense attitude and effective hands on problem solving skills
  • 3+ years of relevant procurement experience required, manufacturing preferred
