The Manufacturing Test & Equipment Qualification function within our Asset Management business area provide consultancy services to the Oil & Gas, Process, Nuclear and Renewables sectors in the field of Testing & Equipment Qualification. Within this function we have an opportunity for a Senior Technician to join our team in Renfrew.
Key Duties:
* To provide technical leadership in the field of Test and Equipment Qualification.
* Maintain and calibrate department's instrumentation and hydraulic pressure gauges.
* Set-Up and monitor data acquisition hardware and software.
* Set-Up Test and Equipment Qualification projects in accordance with client requirements.
* To provide leadership in the field of instrumentation installation, monitoring and calibration.
* To be able to work effectively as part of a team or individually as required in a safe and tidy manner, paying particular attention to Laboratory / Test Bay housekeeping.
* To carry out periodic site work
Key Accountabilities:
-To provide technical leadership in the field of Test and Equipment Qualification in support of the Department's activities.
-To be responsible for equipment and facilities as specified by the Operations Leader ensuring that these are always properly maintained, calibrated and fit-for-purpose.
-To fully participate as a leading member of project team(s) in meeting time, cost and timescale targets on all projects thus fully satisfying the client's valid requirements.
-To adhere to company procedures and systems (including quality, safety, environment, administration, security) and to contribute to the improvement of such procedures where they can enhance performance.
-To ensure that equipment, work space and machinery is maintained to a high standard and fit for purpose for use or third party inspection.
-To stop any work being carried out within bay/lab environments which is deemed not in-line with the standards expected.
We are looking for someone with the ability to carry out risk assessments for MTEQ group activities and capability to specify safe systems of work taking cognisance of identified risks and a candidate with a thorough knowledge of QHSE processes and procedures including the use of Safe Systems of Work, Project Work Packs, Work Order Control Cards, Toolbox talks, Point of Work Risk Assessments, Critical Task Identification and Assessment and Manufacturing Method Statements, Inspection and Test Plans, Test Procedures.
All this experience should be supported by either an apprenticeship with recognised qualification such as SVQ, ONC or City and Guilds in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
