We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our Production department at Nemco.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

As Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will engage with the management team to develop CI strategies for the site and embed sustainable improvement initiatives. You will have the ability to use facts and data to drive change and to lead on continuous improvement projects.

MAIN DUTIES

You will support, co-ordinate and facilitate the implementation of new and improved structures, processes, and activities.

You will provide technical guidance to drive continuous improvement initiatives using proven methodologies, in turn improving quality and efficiency and reducing costs within the manufacturing facility.

Coach, mentor and educate employees to develop, support and sustain a continuous improvement culture - establish improvement as a way of life.

Facilitate and take the lead on continuous improvement projects.

Ensure that you do the right thing when it comes to safety, cost and the environment.

Encourage knowledge-sharing to accelerate improvements and benefits.

To drive and compile Operational Efficiency Data (OEE) for all areas of production using the data generated by the Epicor ERP system reports and datasheets. The OEE requires analysis of Performance, indirect hours spent and quality data.

Compile KPI and metrics. Compile and analyse other key production metrics including: rework data and on time delivery, ensure that this data is available within 12 working days of month end.

Review the overspend data to look for improvement opportunities within the production processes, focusing on high returns, easy to complete.

Work to a high level of accuracy and good attention to detail.

Mentor the 5S Champions and support the systems, standards and initiatives.

Follow and uphold the Company's environmental policy, procedures and instructions in order to minimize environmental impacts from its activities.

Ensure that all improvement activities adhere to the environmental policy.

To assist with other departmental KPI and metrics, when time permits, but especially around the time of audit or re-certification.

Work to ISO9001:2008 and AS9100 quality requirements.

In addition the jobholder may be required to perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor/manager from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

Essential:
- Knowledge of change management and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience within a CI based role
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering or manufacturing processes

Desirable:
- Experience of company ERP systems
- Engineering or Industrial Processes qualification
- Working knowledge and understanding of manufacturing techniques

HOURS OF WORK

Monday - Thursday: 7.30am - 4.00pm

Friday: 7.30am - 12.00pm
