A leading aerospace & defence manufacturing business are currently recruiting for a Commercial Contracts Manager based in Rugeley (hybrid working) on a fulltime permanent basis.
Proven experience within a commercial contract management role is essential, all industry experience will be considered and not limited to aerospace & defence.
Role - Commercial Contracts Manager
Type - Permanent position
Location - Rugeley, Staffordshire (hybrid working 2-3 days remote)
Salary - Competitive (DOE)
Key roles and responsibilities for Commercial Contracts Manager role and will not be limited to:
- Negotiate prime contracts with UK/overseas commercial customers and with UK Ministry of Defence (MoD)
- Maximise opportunities within payment plans to maintain/improve working capital when negotiating contract terms
- Advise Purchasing Department on the flow-down of contract conditions to sub-contractors.
- Advise Programme Managers on all contractual aspects and provide assistance to ensure cost effective delivery of programmes
- Advise and support project team on all contractual maters to meet delivery timescales
- Draft contract documentation and agreements of a contractual nature (joint venture, partnership, confidentiality, consultancy, software licences, etc)
- Liaise with customers at all levels in relation to existing and new business, e.g. terms & conditions, contracts, proposals, invoicing
- Responsible for invoicing and payment in conjunction with Finance Department
- Resolve payment disputes effectively
- Mitigation of contractual financial liabilities
- Protection of company cash-flow position
Key skills and experience required for Commercial Contracts Manager job applicant and not limited to:
- Previous experience within a commercial contract management role
- Experience in contract negotiation and the commercial management of supply contracts
- Knowledge of industrial/commercial conditions of contract and procedures
- A high level of commercial awareness
- Ability to promote and encourage a culture of teamwork
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels of the organisation
