If you are an attorney with an entrepreneurial spirit, proactive business approach to law, and a desire to bring new ideas to market - then we should talk. The legal team supporting innovation at ICON is a small, but very collegial and hard working group of lawyers with interest and experience in data, privacy, IP and technology. WE LOVE WHAT WE DO! The lawyer for this role will be required to provide support for clinical and commercial technology as well as data licensing and acquisition. We wear a lot of hats, and we like it that way.

The primary role for this candidate will be Contract drafting, review, analysis and negotiation. The chosen candidate must have strong drafting skills and familiarity with the terms and conditions of service/licensing agreements for clients, vendors and third party contracts. She/he must be capable of analyzing and commenting upon contracts prepared by others in a manner that balances business requirements with practical legal analysis. This role will be expected to communicate with all levels of internal and external clients, co-workers and others.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to work from our stunning office in Dublin, Ireland.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Fluent English language

* 3-5 years of solid legal experience in a high-quality law firm and/or sophisticated in-house legal department

* Should be a good team player and enjoy collaboration and fostering trust amount colleagues.

* Willingness to roll up your sleeves to help your teammates and provide excellent legal services to the business teams you support

* Personal and professional maturity to develop and maintain strong relationships with key business clients.

* Ability to identify and communicate complicated issues to lawyers and non-lawyers in an effective and timely manner including risk assessments, legal guidance, strategy, etc.

* Significant experience negotiating contracts

* Some experience (and an interest) in data, privacy, IP and technology, compliance and other internal stakeholders

* Intellectual curiosity and appetite for learning

* Ability to take ownership of projects and drive them forward in a collaborative manner

* Willingness and ability to work cross-functionally, with business, DPO, Finance, IT security, etc.

* Attention to detail, with great organization skills

* Experience managing workload and priorities so as to meet business requirements in a timely fashion

* Law degree from an accredited law school

* Active state bar membership in at least one jurisdiction

* Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook

We would consdier the following experience a plus:

* Clinical trial experience

* Medical Device/FDA experience

* Vendor contracting experience

* IAPP certification

* Contracting experience in the CRO, pharmaceutical industries, or other relevant areas
