Are you an experienced Safety Advisor, who is looking to take that next step in your career? I am currently representing an established Construction/Civils company who have a newly created role to join their Safety team. They are offering a very attractive salary of GBP35k to GBP40k with Car Allowance/Bonus???

The company are leaders in their specific field within the construction market and this position is for an experienced Advisor who has worked within the Construction field. You will have experience in visiting sites as well as being based from home and the office.

Summary:

To promote H&S awareness; and monitor that safety related functions, including risk assessment and safe working practices are being satisfactory completed to ensuring company personnel are in compliance of their H&S & welfare obligations in relation to legal requirements, BS OHSAS 18001 and other regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities of the Advisor:

To prepare and undertake audits and workplace inspections of all company operations to proactively identify where H&S management practices can be improved and to provide written guidance, where necessary, to assist the Company in implementing solutions to enhance its H&S performance.
To liaise with clients, principal contractors and site agents during visits, inspections and investigations to ensure issues identified are dealt with and satisfactorily closed out.
Prepare H&S reports and statistical/performance data and present reports at all management levels as required. Carry out root cause analysis for occurrences and provide guidance for proposed corrective actions to all parties. Monitor that audit recommendations are being implemented within agreed timescales.
Record audit findings within the required database system and ensure the details of any improvement actions are further recorded in the Occurrence database via Lotus Notes.
To investigate reports of accidents, incidents and near misses, determine their causes and make recommendations for improving recurrence prevention and controls. Ensure the SHEQ Reporting database is maintained with supporting documents from the resulting investigations.
Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements in accordance with company management system procedures. Provide H&S and Welfare advice to company personnel with the responsibility of carrying out risk assessments of their processes/activities.
To provide advice and support to all departments, in making sure that personnel follow required procedures.
Ensure Fire Arrangements are maintained in good order and fire drills are carried out on all areas of the company and liaise with emergency services, as necessary, regarding emergency procedures, communications and fire
Maintain liaison with external auditors including but not exclusive, British Standards Institute, Achilles (Link-up, Building Confidence).Requirements of the Advisor:

Experienced Health and Safety professional
Must be NEBOSH qualified
Experience working in either the construction or civil field is essential
Happy to travel to customer sites.
Fully competent in using IT systems
Qualification in Construction is desirable.In return they offer a very attractive salary and benefits package

Salary banding: GBP35k to GBP40k
