Air Personnel are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join a fantastic company in Oxfordshire.

Overview of the role

As Senior Systems Engineer you will take responsibility for applying system engineering practices to capture requirements from a wide range of stakeholders including product managers, engineering teams and regulatory bodies. You will capture requirements and define specifications for company products; creating high-quality documentation including design specifications and interface control documents. You will be responsible for maintaining system models in SysML, ultimately ensuring traceability of requirements from stakeholder requirements through to sub-module test cases.

You will have a proactive working style with the ability to identify solutions. You build effective working relationships within your team but also outside your function across the business. You may have responsibility for a discrete part of a project or be working on multiple projects simultaneously, managing priorities, deliverables and multitasking as required.

Responsibilities??? what will you do?

As Senior Systems Engineer you will be responsible for:

Progress the product family through design, development, test, verification and validation in accordance with engineering life cycle processes

Create and manage the System description and behaviour through application of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

Establish and maintain Systems Engineering Management, Integration, Verification, and Validation plans

Capture requirements from a range of sources including, existing specifications, standards, operators and management personnel.

Prepare technical documentation including use cases, test cases, test procedures, design specifications and engineering change notices

Support the establishment and maintenance of Certification Plans.

Support the Safety Engineers to specify safety requirements within the plan

Maintain consistent requirements, design specifications and test specifications across multiple configurations, parameters and versions of the same product.

As a Senior Engineer you will:

Support cross functional teams including product design, software, electronics and mechanical teams in developing the architecture and design definitions of our products.

Support the Systems Engineering Team Lead to develop, improve and sustain processes as well as ensuring quality control of engineering processes across the teams.

Bring people together to ensure completion of tasks.

Role model positive behaviours and support the development of other engineers.

Communicate with the wider company, for example, in Company meetings

Plan and estimate complex tasks for project planning requirements

Ensure industry standards and best practice are incorporated into your work

Essential skills and experience??? what are we looking for?

You will have the following skills and experience:

Good first degree or Masters in a relevant engineering discipline

Experience in a similar systems role in a relevant industry

* Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems with an ability to apply a "Systems thinking" approach

* Demonstrable ability to understand and formalise the functional structure of a complex system, and to weed-out inconsistencies

* Experience of working with technical requirements, statements of work, integration, verification and validation, acceptance criteria

* Knowledge of verification and testing methodologies

* Awareness of ARP4754, DO-178 and DO-254

* Highly self-motivated with minimal supervision needed to complete assignments

* Good communications skills, both verbally and written with the ability to present and explain technical and complex problems tailored appropriately for the audience

Desirable skills and experience: -

* Experience of Application Lifecycle Management tools (e.g codeBeamer, Visure)

* Experience of working within ARP4754, DO-178 and DO-254 guidelines

* Basic programming/scripting skills (e.g. Python)

* Experience of Model-Based Systems Engineering e.g. UML, SysML
