So, if you are ready for a new challenge, want the opportunity to make a real impact and personal and career development are important to you, read on.
The opportunity
As a Social Media Advisor your main focus will be the effective management of our corporate social media channels and the effective use of social media content as part of an integrated approach to communications activities. From signposting to mental health support, to encouraging residents to adopt healthy behaviours, your days will be full and varied. You will be responsible for the delivery of social media strategies for our channels, curating and creating content for positive reach and engagement. You will also be responsible for providing information, advice and guidance to colleagues in our devolved network of communications professionals on social media best practice.
About you
Creative and innovative, you are a passionate advocate for the potential of social media to transform communication between the Council and the public. You are also keen to build on your experience of running social media activity in a large organisation. As well as a strong understanding of social analytics and what makes great content, you are adaptable and adept at working in a fast moving, customer-first environment that relies on real-time communications. In addition, you have experience of curating user-generated content and training non-professional social media users and understand the importance of quality assurance. You also welcome change, have a growth mindset and are happy to work flexibly and collaboratively across structural boundaries in support of key outcomes.
Plus we understand that life sometimes does not always go according to plan and that there are times where work has to fit around you, which is why we are committed to ensuring flexible working.
