As an Embedded Control Systems Consultant, you will work on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from designing prototype electronics / Internet of Things (IoT) devices through to developing large-scale control systems.

My client currently requires an Embedded Control Systems Consultant to look beyond the task presented, who has a desire to apply their technical skills to tackle problems in new industries; to take a systems view to understand our clients' needs and consult and deliver sustainable solutions that truly add value.
Their projects are varied both in scale and industry sector. This diversity and the growth of their electronics capability provides a wealth of opportunities for career development and progression within our team.
Alongside the technical aspects of the role, effective communication is also key as they collaborate widely internally, with partners and broad customer base. The role will involve hybrid working in offices and laboratories, at home, at clients' sites and field trial environments depending on the needs of projects.

About you:
To be suitable for the Embedded Control Systems Consultant role, you will need;
*An Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a General Engineering Degree (Masters/PhD or evidence of post graduate experience).
*Industry experience in embedded control and/or architecture/software using a systems engineering approach.
*Experience in C, C++ and/or Ada along with RTOS embedded software development.
*Chartered Engineer (or clear evidence of progression towards Chartership).
It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:
*Model Based Design (MBD) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
*Safety critical software standards development e.g. IEC61508 or DO-178B/C (or other industry specific derivatives such as EN 50128 or ISO26262).
*Requirements analysis and traceability e.g. using DOORS.
*Experience of modelling and simulation tools, e.g. SCADE, MATLAB, Simulink, Veristand, LabVIEW.
*Industry experience in hardware and software integration.
*Software engineering expertise covering items such as software modelling (UML/SysML), software assurance, static analysis, statistical testing and formal methods.
*Prior experience of project management, preparation of bids and proposals.
*Experience of project, customer or supplier communications and management.
*Interpretation of clients' technical needs.
*Technical leadership of projects.
