Contract Scotland has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join our client, based in Stepps as their Supply Chain Manager. This is a full time, permanent role and has been created to strengthen their current Procurement team.

You will be working on programmes throughout Scotland, ensuring key subcontractors are engaged early to unlock supply chain value and drive out waste through supporting and contributing to such initiatives as standard solutions, digital delivery optimisation and driving business simplification.

You will report directly to the Head of Procurement and your key responsibilities will include:
• Assisting with the development and delivery of the strategic direction.
• Implementing new procurement frameworks for key construction activities.
• Managing the maintenance of an approved supplier database
• Monitoring and managing the performance of suppliers to ensure that the company continues to use those delivering the best service levels
• Proactively managing client mandatory frameworks
• Contributing to the management of the procurement process, ensuring compliance with processes, policies, and procedures.
• Taking part in both internal and external audits with responsibility for resolving any non-conformities.
• Assisting in the resolution of escalated supplier performance issues and disputes
• Developing and maintaining strong, value adding relationships with the supply chain
• Ensuring that the supply chain is competent in health and safety, quality, and environmental management, including carbon reduction strategies.
• Negotiating commercial terms, conditions, and levels of service (inc KPI's) with suppliers
• Managing key procurement items from tender stage through to delivery.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure that project and framework level procurement plans are in place.

You will have experience at senior level procurement and supply chain within the construction or utility industry sectors, ideally with a knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts/subcontracts. You will be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience of Oracle purchasing and costing system would be beneficial but full training can be provided.
