Communications & Engagement Assistant

Circus Starr is a community interest company with a difference! Our organisation tours around the UK with an accessible and inclusive circus show to benefit children who are vulnerable and disadvantaged. We are currently looking to fill the exciting role of Communications & Engagement Assistant.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who cares about making the arts available to those who may usually miss out. It will give you experience working in a unique environment as you help behind the scenes of a circus and a not for profit organisation.

The position is varied with general working hours at our head office based in Congleton, and some out of ours work (evenings and weekends) when attending our shows which could take place anywhere in the country.

Main Responsibilities Include :

  • Individual families ticket allocations
  • Assisting in planning and organising additional show projects
  • Social Media
  • Working with families and business supporters
  • Ordering print
  • Working alongside our troupe and show managers
  • Sourcing and directing photographers
  • Supporting the Communication & Engagement Manager
  • General office administration

Desirable :

  • Experience in social media/marketing/admin
  • A passion for the arts industry
  • An interest in accessibility and inclusivity

Essential :

  • Be confident in driving to various different locations throughout the UK
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Good communication skills
  • A positive attitude

Job Description & Main Responsibilities

Individual families ticket allocations
Process application forms and add to our database. Correspond with successful families and arrange their tickets.

Assist in planning and organising additional show projects
Identify locations that we could hold touch tours and BSL signed performances. Research charities and organisations that may benefit from our additional projects.

Social Media
Help to manage all of our social media channels, this can include creating content and replying to posts and messaging. Schedule all sponsorship packages that relate to our social media platforms.
Collate feedback received on social media for future use.

Work with families
Communicate with families attending our performances. Gather feedback from our audience members. Support families with any queries they may have.

Order print
Liaising and organising all of our printed marketing materials including our show tickets.

Attend shows
Travel to our shows and work alongside our troupe and show managers. Source and direct photographers.
