Meeting and Events Operations Manager

A leading Hotel located in Hull city centre is currently seeking a Meeting and Events Operations Manager.

This role will provide a 24-hour full service facility complete with 165 bedrooms, meeting space for up to 1,000 delegates, three conference rooms, a ballroom which can be divided into five meeting spaces and a large breakout area. Food and beverage outlets will include Restaurant, rooftop bar and lobby caf??.

We are looking for a Meeting and Events Operations Manager join our team to oversee the day to day running of the Meeting, Events and Conference business.

The successful candidate

The candidate will be from an experience hotel background, ideally branded and will be able to demonstrate their ability to successfully manage a large events operation. Leading a medium sized team the candidate will be experienced in Line Management ensuring the team are well equipped and trained to a high standard. The candidate will have a hands on approach and be present at all key times. Building relationships will be at the forefront of their skillset, ensuring excellent communication and service to all hotel clientele. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring all standards of practice are in place for the department and reviewed on a regular basis, ensuring these are challenged when not preforming well.

Key Responsibilities

?? Line Management responsibilities for a medium sized team, ensuring low turnover and high performance

?? Oversee the labour costs ensuring this is controlled, producing staff rotas

?? Ensuring stock and wastage is controlled and levels are maintained. Providing the relevant training to support this

?? Oversee the day to day operations of the department ensuring a hands on support required for all key meeting, events and conference business

?? Review and management of guest feedback, including all branded platforms and social media feedback. Ensuring appropriate action and responses are taken

?? Overall understanding of the department staffing structure ensuring appropriate levels are maintained to produce an excellent service.

?? Maintaining a positive relationship with all internal teams, ensuring excellent communication to support a smooth operation

?? Review of all BEO's, food menus, room layouts and supplier information prior to the event taking place. Overall responsibility for the successful operation of all events

?? Liaising with and maintaining excellent relationships with hotel clients. Building good rapport to ensure the consistent return of custom

?? Ensuring all front of house areas are compliant and maintained, including staff uniform and brand standard requirements

?? Human Resources responsibilities including interviewing, training and support in employee management

?? Attendance at all required hotel meetings producing required data in a professional manner

?? Understanding and usage of Excel Spreadsheets and related documents.

?? Develop a good working relationship with the Meetings & Events Sales team, attend pre event and post event meetings to assist in the planning process to enhance the guest experience.

Required skills and experience:

?? Minimum of 1 year experience in an hotel Meeting and Events Operations Manager role

?? Minimum of 1 year experience in a full service hotel

?? Ideally from a branded background.

?? A true passion for hospitality is a must
