My client, a well respected publishing company based in Tunbridge Wells is seeking an experienced magazine designer to join their team. Working across a range of niche and technical business to business magazines you will present the words and images in a way that will appeal to the reader with high visual impact.
The job covers all aspects of layout and design and may include:
* laying out pages for the magazine, often to tight deadlines
* Setting the magazines overall visual style
* Establishing design templates
* Anticipating design trends
* discussing design and layout ideas with the editor and other colleagues
* sourcing images to compliment articles
* sketching out and designing the cover
* anticipating trends and setting the magazine's overall visual style
* Creating adverts for clients, liaising with the sales and editorial teams
* Working to budgets
* Using MAC, Adobe, Quark and InDesign
Hours: 9-5 Monday to Friday, but extra hours will be required to meet deadlines.
It is essential that you have worked as a Designer / Art Editor on business to business magazines. You will be creative, with a highly-developed visual sense, be attentive to detail and able to work to tight deadlines. It is essential that you can use MAC, Adobe, Quark and InDesign.
