Our client are a specialist groundworks contrator who work on behalf of major plc contractors across the country and they are currently in the market for a Materials Buyer
The role
Research, select and purchase/hire quality materials/plant to ensure all projects achieve maximum efficiency and profitability. Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate for the best pricing.
The role will also require an element of future requirement forecasting and in the near future using this data to better establish and underpin better buying power and rates.
Experience
* Previous experience in buying
* Strong negotiator
* Numerically competent
* A polite and articulate telephone manner
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to prioritise workload & multi-task
* Organised and methodical
* Adaptable to change

* Strong commercial awareness
