Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Permanent Senior Social Care Worker (Day - 12 hour shifts) in the residential setting for Older People/Physical Disability within our care home Hawthorn House and Orchard Grove.

The role is to assist Senior Management in the task of promoting Glasgow City Council’s policy on care for elderly people. Applicants must have the ability to manage a range of cases and supervise others in maintaining and improving the well-being and security of service users and the community. Knowledge and skills in promoting individual care and independence,  particular to the needs of older people, is essential. HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level lll (Health and Social Care) or equivalent is desirable.

Applications are welcome from ethnic minorities and fluent speakers of other languages, for example, Cantonese, Hakka, Punjabi, Urdu.

This advert will be held open for a 3 month period from the closing date to allow the Recruitment process to be concluded. Any vacancies which arise during this 3 month period on a citywide basis will be filled from this advert.

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

As Scottish Social Services Council registration is a statutory requirement for this post under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001, you must either be already registered or be registered within 6 months from the date you start in this post. Your employment is subject to your continued registrations.
